Here is a vintage 1670 Wrapper (Envelope) with broken, wax seal on watermarked paper. Complete with small hand stamp. Addressed to John Stanhope esquire and to be delivered to him in Leeds, Yorkeshire via Thomas Stables Sadler. Wrapper actually reads ( and I’m doing my best as difficult to decipher old writing style). “These, For John Stanhope Esquire Jun attorney Scoresforth neare Leeds Yorkeshire” Leave this with Madame Thomas Stables Sadler in Leeds to be sented?? Yorkeshire” Return address: “24.Sept. 1670 Mr. John Cahorly ??? Of attorney” In great condition for its age. Wear on edges and folds. Please see photos.
