GABBRO CUBE WITH ONE CORNER CUT OFF (HEPTAHEDRON). Plagioclase Feldspar : The dominant mineral in gabbro, usually calcium-rich varieties such as labradorite or bytownite. Plagioclase gives gabbro its light-colored grains and contributes to its overall dark green to black appearance when combined with mafic minerals.
